Starting the week of September 3, 2013 the City of Raleigh Solid Waste Services Department will implement a new route structure! As a result, your household will have a change in your regular schedule for curbside collection. Your assigned day of the week may change and/or your biweekly schedule for recycling collection may change. Your annual recycling calendar will be mailed in late July/early August.
Raleigh is a rapidly growing city. Since the 2000 Census, Raleigh’s population has grown by 68%, with a 46% increase in housing units. These numbers have practical implications on the ability to maintain adequate service levels for customers. By changing the collection schedule, daily routes will be more balanced.
