Are you getting egg-cited about Easter and spring? The warmer weather, beautiful blooms and sunny days are setting the stage for egg hunts and spring celebrations hosted in our Triangle cities and towns this weekend and next.

Whether you’re seeking a grassy knoll for your children to romp and run on the hunt for hidden egg treasures or desire a more relaxed gathering with crafts and activities to engage their little minds, there are plenty of events to consider–even two for adults only!

Cary

Breakfast with the Bunny
Saturday, April 8 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Cary Senior Center at Fred G. Bond Metro Park and Boathouse, 801 High House Road, Cary
Tickets: Kids ages 10 and up, $4 each; youth ages 3 to 9, $3; children under 2, free

Breakfast with the Bunny? Count us in! The Cary Teen Council will serve up tasty muffins, donuts, and fresh fruit at this egg-citing meet and greet! The Bunny will be ready to pose for photos and videos.

26th Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Eggstravaganza
Saturday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Fred G. Bond Metro Park and Boathouse, 801 High House Road, Cary

Hop on over to Cary’s Bond Park to let the little ones (10 and under) take part in an Easter egg hunt and an array of fun activities including inflatables, a magic show, face painting, and games. The Town of Cary’s Police and Fire Departments will have a patrol car and fire truck on site for the boys and girls to see up close. Triangle area food trucks will also be on hand serving up yummy delights.

Chapel Hill

2017 Community Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Southern Community Park, 1000 Sumac Road, Chapel Hill

Peter Cottontail will hide his colorful eggs for your little ones to find at Southern Community Park in Chapel Hill this weekend. Games, holiday crafts and inflatable bounce houses and slides will add to the fun.

Clayton

Preschooler Easter Egg Hunt
Good Friday, April 14 at 10:30 a.m.
Clayton Community Park, 1075 Amelia Church Road, Clayton

Clayton is planning an Easter egg hunt for its tiniest neighbors (children 5 and under). Not only will your toddlers get excited to collect colorful eggs, but they’ll love to see the Easter Bunny arrive in style on a Clayton Fire Engine.

Durham

2017 Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to noon
West Point on the Eno, 5101 N. Roxboro Road, Durham

Calling all egg hunters 12 and under! Head to Eno Park in Durham to seek out eggs in all colors, even one in gold! After you fill your basket, you can take part in crafts and games and even get your face painted with some spring designs!

Fuquay-Varina

Easter Egg Hunt

Your kids will have an egg-cellent time in Fuquay-Varina this Saturday! Word on the street is that the big bunny plans to hide thousands of eggs for hunters up to age 10 to seek out and stow away in their baskets.

Garner

Garner Eggstravaganza

Grab your kids’ Easter baskets and head to Lake Benson Park to seek out some candy-filled eggs this Saturday. Age group hunt times will vary, but all are sure to be great fun! As you wait on your children’s hunt time slots, you can enjoy entertainment, crafts, games and festival food.

Hillsborough

Food-Free Egg Hunt 
Saturday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to noon
Gold Park, 415 Dimmocks Mill Road, Hillsborough

Catering to children with food and gluten allergies, the Food-Free Egg Hunt at Gold Park will reward its young egg finders with stickers, small toys, and games. Go for the hunt and stay around for holiday activities, kiddie games, and local booths and food vendors.

Holly Springs

Spring Fling and Community Yard Sale
Saturday, April 8 from 8 a.m. to noon
Jefferson L. Sugg Farm at Bass Lake Park, 2401 Grigsby Avenue, Holly Springs

Holly Springs will host an assortment of activities to celebrate the spring season this Saturday. You can take part in its annual community yard sale (pre-register to sell your stuff by calling 919-557-9603), Spring Fling games and entertainment, and midday Easter egg hunt.

Knightdale

Easter Eggstraordinaire
Saturday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Knightdale Station Park, 810 N. First Avenue, Knightdale

The Town of Knightdale is planning an egg-tra special Easter egg hunt for children up to age 8. The hunt will begin promptly at 11 a.m. with live music, holiday activities and train rides following. Community churches and organizations will be serving up free food, and other vendors like Kona Ice and C&J Funnel Cakes will have treats to buy.

Paws in the Park
Saturday, April 8 at 9:30 a.m.
Ashley Wilder Dog Park Knightdale Station Park, 810 N. First Avenue, Knightdale

A hunt for your furbaby?! Sure thing! Bring your favorite four-legged friend to the Ashley Wilder Dog Park to seek and find special eggs filled with pet treats. The first 125 dogs to arrive will go home with a Frisbee and goodie bag. The Easter Bunny will even be on hand to take photos with the pups and pooches.

Mebane

Paws4ever Adult Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 15 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Paws4Ever, 6311 Nicks Road, Mebane
Tickets: 1 ticket for $15 through April 13; 1 ticket for $20 at the event

With mimosas, brews, and thousands of eggs filled wth spirits and gift cards, this Easter egg hunt is for those young at heart, not young in age (must be 21+). DJ Patrick Cooke will be playing the latest and greatest beats while Carolina Brewery, Baguetteaboutit Food Truck and Catering Cafe serve guests. Tickets are available online with proceeds benefiting the Paws4ever animal shelter and adoption program.

Raleigh

Spring Fling at Dorothea Dix Park

Hosted by the City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources, the Spring Fling at Dorothea Dix Park is going to be filled with fantastic field day fun for adults. That’s right… it’s for grown-ups, some of the tallest kids of all! There will be an egg hunt, inflatable obstacle course, and wacky photo booth—tons of fun in the sun!

City of Raleigh Egg Hunts
Presented by the City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources
Saturday, April 8 at varying times

The City of Raleigh is planning egg hunts for your youngsters at many of its area parks and recreation centers including Brier Creek Community Center, Mordecai Historic Park, Pullen Park and Spring Forest Road Park. Visit the City’s event site to get more details.

Annual Egg Rush

A ton of Easter eggs will be waiting for your children to arrive at Rolesville Middle School on Saturday with age group hunts beginning at 10 a.m. Your happy hunters will be able to trade the eggs they score for sweet treats—a few grand prizes will be available as well for special eggs finders. Make sure to bring a camera to take photos with the bunny too!

Wake Forest

Wake Forest Easter Egg Hunt

With more than 10,000 eggs waiting to be found, the Wake Forest Easter Egg Hunt will certainly be egg-citing! Kids will love seeking out colorful eggs filled with sweet treats and even some special grand prize items. There will also be Easter-themed arts and crafts and food vendors serving up snack items and lunch plates.
