The new master plan for future development of Research Triangle Park has been revealed. The new vision for RTP will include a new mixed-use development called Triangle Commons, which will include retail, restaurant, and residential space, perhaps even such amenities as a concert space and a high-end hotel. This new plan also includes more mass transit and an expansion of commercial and research space, which could all lead to a potential tripling of capacity within RTP-taking current capacity from about 45,000 workers to 150,000. The new plan aims to maintain Research Triangle Park as one of the premier technology, research, and innovation campuses in the country. Read the full article at WRAL.
