Many of you may know of South by Southwest (SXSW) as the music festival in Austin, TX, but you may not realize that there is also a SXSW Interactive Trade Show which showcases cutting-edge technology and digital creativity. SXSW attracts over 49,000 visitors during the 10-day festival, and The Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce’s economic development team will be there hosting a number of interactive contests and sharing some of Raleigh’s hippest local brands and companies. The Chamber’s team will be utilizing social media to organize pop-up giveaways featuring local companies’ products made and manufactured in Raleigh, to include items from Holly Aiken, Raleigh Denim, Feelgoodz, Natty Greens, Design Box, Escazu Chocolate, Red Hat, and more. One winner will receive a trip for two to Raleigh, including airfare, hotel accommodations, and two VIP passes to Raleigh’s own Hopscotch Music Festival. The idea behind the effort is to attract some of these savvy festival goers and businesses to relocate to the Triangle and join Raleigh’s creative and entrepreneurial workforce. Work in the Triangle and Raleigh Economic Development would like to encourage individuals and companies from the Triangle region who are participating in SXSW, or interested in promoting Raleigh, to visit http://www.workinthetriangle.com/raleigh and follow Work in the Triangle at @WorkTriangleNC and Raleigh Economic Development at @Raleigh4U via Twitter.
