University Mall in Chapel Hill is getting a new 13-screen luxury movie theater! The company, Silverspot Cinema, is part of a growing luxury theater trend and will offer film-goers hand-stitched leather seats, high-tech projection technology and live broadcasts of opera, ballet and theatrical performances. The theater is also expected to serve a higher-end fare than your typical popcorn and cokes, other Silverspot Cinemas boast menus featuring items such as mini-cheeseburgers and veal piccata! Silverspot will take over the space currently occupied by Dillard’s and will join other new tenants William Travis Jewelers, Fine Feathers, Peacock Alley, contemporary Mexican restaurant Plaza Azteca, TrySports and Kidzu Children’s Museum.
