Ghosts, goblins and witches, oh my! You better have your costumes and candy ready, Halloween is only days away.

You may have plans to host your own spooky soiree, but if not, consider taking part in some of these area Halloween delights and frights!

Family Fun

Fearrington Halloween Pumpkin Fest
Fearrington Village, Carrboro
Thursday, Oct. 29 from 6 to 10 p.m.

Fearrington gardeners and chefs have created more than 50 intricately carved and designed jack-o-lanterns that will line the Village Center gardens. Load up the little ones and plan to take a stroll along the festive sidewalks with live music by Gasoline Stove.

Halloween Carnival
Carrboro Town Commons
Friday, Oct. 30 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Bring the family to Carrboro Town Commons on Friday to take part in the Carrboro Recreation and Parks Departments annual Halloween Carnival. Kids of all ages will have fun playing 28 different carnival-style games like go fish, ring ross and more.

Halloween in the Village
Lafayette Village, Raleigh
Friday, Oct. 30 at 5:30 p.m.

Celebrate Halloween one day early at Lafayette Village. Your little superheroes and princesses can trick-or-treat at participating merchants starting at 5:30 p.m. Once their bags are filled with candy, grab a space on The Green for a free outdoor movie showing of Hocus Pocus at 7 p.m.

Halloween Hayrides
Clayton Community Park
Friday, Oct. 30 from 4 to 6 p.m.

Get the kids dressed up and take them on a Halloween hayride at the Clatyon Community Park. Each ride will be complete with a Halloween story and there will be games and activities for everyone’s enjoyment.

Boos and Brews
Midtown Farmers Market at North Hills, Raleigh
Saturday, Oct. 31 8 a.m. to noon

Head to the Midtown Farmers Market at North Hills for Halloween fun for all. Kids will love decorating pumpkins, bowling, parading in their costumes and hanging out with area mascots. Parents will enjoy craft beer tastings and live music by the Swag Band.

Scary Sights & Horrific Haunts
Clayton Fear Farm Haunted Scream Park

Friday, Oct 30 and Saturday, Oct. 31 from 7 to 11 p.m.

Like a fright? Clayton Fear Farm’s Haunted Scream Park is for you. This farm features attractions that will turn your tummy and creep you out. If a good scare is what you seek, they’ve got you covered.

Haunted Forest at Panic Point
2808 Cedar Creek Road, Youngsville
Open tonight through Saturday, Oct. 31 starting at 6 p.m.

Talk about scary! Panic Point’s Haunted Forest is certain to make you scream. The half-mile trail is filled with frightening creatures and crazy characters prepared to give you a scare that will last for days.

Harvested Farm Nightmares
3175 Benson Highway (HWY 50), Garner
Open tonight through Saturday, Oct. 31 starting at 7 p.m.

Make your way to Harvest Farm Nightmares if thrills and chills are what you seek. There are creepy creatures and scary sights lurking around every corner of this enormous corn maze.
