Forbes says Raleigh is the 9th fastest growing U.S. city

Grow, Raleigh! Grow! The City of Oaks recently earned recognition on Forbes’ 2016 list of the fastest growing cities in the nation. Raleigh ranked ninth out of the top 20 cities included on the list. Flanked by some of the nation’s most well known metro areas like San Jose, Orlando and Seattle, Raleigh is in great company.

Forbes compiled the list following in-depth research of nation’s 100 most populous metro areas and drilled down to review criteria including population, job and economic growth, unemployment data and median annual income in 2015.

This new recognition only confirms the findings presented in the Urban Institute’s report which demonstrated that the greater Raleigh area is on target to grow by 50 percent over the next 15 years. It also pays off the recent nod the Raleigh-Durham metro area earned from U.S. News & World Report as the fourth best place to live in the U.S.

This news isn’t surprising to Raleigh residents who appreciate the city’s immense offerings and conveniences. With a developing highway system that offers easy commutes, a mix of new and established neighborhoods with a wide range of homes, well kept public parks and facilities and a business climate brimming with opportunities, Raleigh has become a city in high demand.
