Ida Terbet moved to the Triangle in 1986. She has helped over 8,000 families buy or sell their homes. Her success is no accident.
When she and her husband, Bob, decided to relocate their family from California, she was in charge of finding a home for their family. She experienced first-hand all of the struggles that an out-of-town buyer would have coming to a new area. She fell in love with the Triangle, quickly made new friends, and once she had her family settled, she decided to pursue a career in real estate.
She was rookie of the year her first year in the industry. Long before the Internet and long before GPS systems, she would research the perfect homes for her buyers and spend all the time necessary to make them feel comfortable before they purchased their new home.
Her husband was a Captain with American Airlines and she created a brochure that was distributed across America advertising her abilities for helping families that were transferring to the Triangle.
Her clients loved her and she loved them. Thanksgiving and parties at her home were always packed with the new community she was building. As her business grew, she also started helping homeowners sell their homes. She created a marketing machine and added new members to her team to ensure that her clients had a world-class experience.
Her success made her a sought after speaker throughout the United States and agents from across the country would fly to Raleigh just to spend a day with her. 30 years later, she is still ranked in the top 1% of all agents in North Carolina.
Her office is lined with awards she has won over the years both locally and nationally for her production, but she feels her greatest achievement is her love for others and a desire to help people has also taken hold in her children. Both her daughter, Colleen Terbet Sain, and Michael Terbet, her son, have joined her company as partners and together they manage a team of 17 people.
Ida wanted to make sure she instilled in her children the commitment to excellence she has had all of these years. Now they work side-by-side which gives them the added bonus of being able to spend time with her children and grandchildren every week.
The team works together to make sure they deliver on their promise: to help homeowners sell their homes in the least amount of time for the highest price possible and to help buyers find their perfect home for the perfect price.
She enjoys spending some of her weekends in the summer at her beach house with her family and friends. In the fall, she is proud to support the Carolina Panthers. She’s been a season ticket holder since they arrived in Charlotte. If she’s not out of town, you’ll see her Sunday at Celebration Church.
Although her team works with buyers and sellers everyday, she still finds time to give back to the community. She supports many organizations that help children in need and is excited each year to support Turkeys for the Triangle through the HPW Foundation, which feeds over 12,000 people over the holidays.
