Turkeys for the Triangle 2016

TurkeysfortheTriangle8

Ever since Don Walston was inspired almost a decade ago by singer James Brown, Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston has donated over 24,000 turkeys to over 100,000 people who would not otherwise be able to afford one during the holidays. James Brown used to distribute turkeys to those in need during the holiday season. When Don Walston heard of his death and his good deeds, he was spurred to make a difference in the community. Over 60 programs such as the Raleigh Rescue Mission, the U.S. National Guard, and The Food Bank of Central & Eastern N.C. have benefitted from the fundraiser each year.

So far, this year’s event has been able to donate 2,500 turkeys and has hopes to add another 1,500 to the total on December 16th. 1,500 of the previously distributed turkeys were donated by Butterball. This was the third year that they contributed to the Turkeys for the Triangle fundraiser.

Raffle tickets are only $5 and will be available for purchase until December 14th here. This year’s prizes include a big screen TV, a one-year lease on a Lexus sedan, a one-year membership to Massage Envy, and many more. Raffle tickets will be drawn December 16th at the distribution event. You do not have to be present to win.
