Turkeys for the Triangle | Thanks for your support!

That’s a wrap! Our 2016 Turkeys for the Triangle program is now complete with a total of 4,000 turkeys donated to feed more than 20,000 neighbors in need, military members, and veterans.

We “tossed” our second and final turkey donation last week with the news that we exceeded our fundraising goal thanks to the hard work of our real estate team who sold raffle tickets to raise money for the program.

“Of all the things I do, Turkeys for the Triangle gives me the most pleasure,” said Don Walston, company founder and chairman. “It breaks my heart to know that so many of our neighbors aren’t able to gather around the table at Thanksgiving and Christmas to enjoy a holiday tradition many of us hold so dear. That knowledge drives me to do more, to grow our turkey donations year after year.”

Started a decade ago by Walston, Turkeys for the Triangle has donated over 24,000 turkeys to feed more than 100,000 people at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Growing Gratitude
Our Turkeys for the Triangle program would not be possible without tremendous support from a number of organizations and people.

For the past three years, we’ve had the privilege of partnering with Garner-based Butterball, LLC to expand our turkey donations. Our Triangle neighbor generously donated 1,500 Butterball brand turkeys to bolster our efforts and feed even more food-insecure families.

Johnson Lexus of Raleigh has stepped up year-after-year to offer up a one-year lease on a new Lexus sedan as the grand prize for our Turkeys for the Triangle program. This extraordinary prize is certainly a driving factor in the success of our raffle ticket sales.

And, lastly, to our Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston real estate agents and staff, especially top ticket salesman Tim McBrayer, thank you, thank you, thank you. Our team’s outpouring of support for this outreach effort never ceases to amaze—it’s truly commendable.
